WHISPERING HEIGHTS
Colossal and vertiginous, skyscrapers are the city’s skeleton– the structure from which so much of its life hangs.
Straining for supremacy, thrusting themselves bravely into the future, skyscrapers are the modern city’s most potent symbol. Yet, they are merely like plants vying for the available light. They are all at once vast superstructures and symbols of Man’s conquest of gravity and superb symbols of his hubris and vanity.
Architects of the future will need to prevail in bringing in biodiversity with ingenious projects where Nature exists in abundance - spreading her wings all the way to the highest summits; birds will nest, bees will return, people will gaze in awe and breathe, Nature will take her course…. in a new biophilic world.
One can always dream…
